Our Story
Built for People,
Not for Procedures
Miroven grew from a simple belief — that the later years of life deserve as much warmth, dignity, and genuine care as any other.

A Home That Began with One Family's Search
Miroven opened in Kamala, Phuket, after its founders spent two years looking for a residential care option they felt truly comfortable placing a parent in. What they found was a gap — between facilities that felt clinical and cold, and home arrangements that couldn't provide enough support as needs grew.
The answer, they decided, was to create something different: a place where the environment itself — the gardens, the sea air, the unhurried pace of island life — was woven into the daily experience of care. Miroven opened its doors in 2018 with six residents and a care team of four. Today, we support families from across Thailand, Japan, Australia, and Europe.
Our mission has not changed: to give every resident a home where they feel known, respected, and at ease — and to give every family the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone is truly looking after the person they love.
Our Mission
To provide residential care that feels genuinely like home — where dignity and personal choice are the starting point, not an afterthought.
Our Vision
A world where no family has to settle for institutional care when something kinder and more personal is possible.
Our Values
Respect for each resident's story. Honesty with families at every stage. Genuine warmth in every interaction — not policy-driven compliance.
The People Behind the Care
Our Team
Each member of our team was chosen not only for their professional background, but for the kind of presence they bring to the people in their care.
Suwannee Leelakanok
Director of Care
With over 18 years in geriatric nursing across Bangkok and Chiang Mai hospitals, Suwannee brings both clinical depth and a deeply personal understanding of what families go through during this stage of life.
Priya Wattanaporn
Head of Resident Wellbeing
Priya designs the daily rhythms of Miroven — the garden programmes, cooking workshops, and cultural evenings that give each week its shape. She holds a background in occupational therapy and Thai traditional wellness.
Krit Thitiwan
Family Liaison & Admissions
Krit is often the first person a family speaks with, and his calm, considerate approach makes a difficult conversation feel manageable. He coordinates all admissions and remains a consistent point of contact for families throughout a resident's stay.
How We Work
Our Standards of Care
These are not compliance checkboxes. They are the day-to-day commitments that shape how Miroven operates.
Qualified Nursing Staff
All clinical care is delivered by registered nurses with specific training in geriatric care. Our nursing team participates in ongoing professional development relevant to ageing and palliative support.
Individual Care Plans
Every resident has a documented care plan developed with input from the resident, their family, and our care team. Plans are reviewed at least quarterly, or sooner if needs change.
Resident Dignity & Rights
Our staff training places resident dignity at the centre. We hold internal reviews to assess how well this commitment is maintained in practice — not simply in policy documents.
Data Privacy
Resident and family data is handled in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. Health records are kept securely and shared only with those directly involved in care.
Tropical Climate Safety
Our facility is designed for Phuket's climate — shaded outdoor spaces, optimised airflow, and hydration monitoring throughout the day. Outdoor activities are scheduled around cooler morning and late afternoon hours.
Hospital Coordination
Miroven maintains active working relationships with Phuket International Hospital and local specialists. When a resident requires external medical input, the handover is handled carefully and without disruption to their overall care.
Our Approach
Residential Care Shaped Around the Individual
At Miroven, we believe the quality of residential care is felt most in the ordinary moments — the morning tea brought without needing to ask, the familiar face at the end of a difficult day, the garden walk taken at whatever pace feels right. Our work is to make those moments consistent and meaningful.
Set within the grounds of Kamala in Kathu, Phuket, our facility benefits from the natural calm of the island — sea breezes, lush landscaping, and an environment that encourages rest rather than agitation. Many families tell us that within a week, their loved one seems calmer and more engaged than they had been in years.
We serve seniors from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities. Our multilingual care team includes Thai, English, and Japanese-speaking staff, and we regularly accommodate residents whose primary language is not Thai. Cultural familiarity and personal preference are taken into account in everything from meal planning to social activities.
Miroven is a small facility by design. We do not aim to be the largest. We aim to be the most attentive — and to maintain that quality as we grow thoughtfully over time. Every family that entrusts us with someone they love will find that our response to that trust is the same: steady, personal, and always honest.
